Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line
Seven underground stations will be constructed along the 9.5km underground alignment of the KVMRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line (SBK Line).
Upon completion, commuters will need only 16 minutes to travel from the first underground MRT station at KL Sentral to the last underground MRT station at Maluri.
The SBK Line’s underground stations will take commuters to the most vibrant parts of Kuala Lumpur, while enjoying world-class metro facilities that will not only be functional, but also aesthetic in design.
All seven underground stations will be constructed using the cut-and-cover method. For those in the Kenny Hill Formation, construction will follow the top down process while those in Kuala Lumpur karst limestone are designed for bottom-up sequence.
The KVMRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line underground stations are incorporated with green technology to boost energy efficiency and best-in-class facilities to provide greater convenience for the disabled.
Station features specially catered for the physically challenged, among others, include:
- Ticket gates wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs
- Movement-triggered elevators from the ground level to the concourse and platforms
- Braille markings on lift control buttons.
- Step-free access drop off points.
Each station will also serve as information centres for the KVMRT, providing information on other MRT lines, interchanges and transfer points. Interchange stations will have clearly marked out transfer routes for transiting commuters.
Best-in-class safety systems are employed to ensure that emergencies are quickly and efficiently managed. All underground will be equipped with automatic fire and sprinkler system, as well as public address systems for passenger paging and mass evacuation.
KVMRT will not be a transit system in isolation. By design, KVMRT will integrate with existing LRT, KTM and Monorail lines to create an integrated transportation system within the Klang Valley.
